GREENBAY–TheBayBeachWildlifeSanctuary’sR-PAWSprogramisonthelookoutfornewvolunteers.
“It’sagroupofvolunteersworkingwiththeBayBeachWildlifeSanctuarystaff,”BayBeachWildlifeSanctuaryCuratorofAnimalsLoriBanksonsaid.“Weadmitinjured,orphaned,illanddisplacedwildlifeandgivethemachancetoreturntothewildernesshealthy.”
RehabilitationProgramAtTheWildlifeSanctuary(R-PAWS),isagroupoflicensedvolunteersthatworkscloselywiththestaffatthesanctuarytohouseandfeedinjuredordisplacedanimals.
Theroughly50familiescurrentlyvolunteeringareinchargeoffundingthecagingandfeedingoftheseanimalsattheWildlifeSanctuary,andthesanctuaryitselfprovidesthesuppliesthey’llneed.
“Itvariesonthetypeofspecies,”Banksonsaidaboutcost.“Itisafreeprogram,butitisacommitmentoftimeandenergyandfunds.”
In2024alone,thesanctuarytookinnearly6,800animals.
