Cat Tries to ‘Get Himself Rescued’ for Almost Half a Year Finally Gets His Wish This Winter

A cat who had tried to “get himself rescued” for almost half a year finally got his wish this winter.

A white cat had reportedly been lingering around a neighborhood for nearly half a year. He followed passers-by around and even waited outside the entrance of a building.
When Little Wanderers NYC (an animal rescue) received a request to help the stray, they sprang into action. “When I saw the cat had been in a fight and had a wound, I rushed over with a can of sardines,” a volunteer rescuer shared.
“When I arrived, he was meowing and following people around, clearly desperate for food and help.”

Driven by hunger, the cat walked straight into the humane trap and devoured the can of food. When the door closed, he didn’t even flinch, as if he’d been waiting for this moment.
“I’m relieved he’s safe inside now and will get the chance he deserves.”
